We just returned from Austin, TX a college town known for parties, BBQ and BATS! There's a bridge in Austin where 1.5 Million Bats live and every night at sunset the join together to start the hunt for food.
As I was watching the bats and covering my head to avoid any stray droppings I wondered why they all left at the same time, where in Texas are there that many bugs for all those bats to eat, do they use the buddy system and split up from one another when they get where they're going and how did they count 1.5 Million bats? Does anyone know? I think that bats are rodents, so is there a rodentologist that can answer my questions on bat-like behavior?
Anyway, its pretty cool to see and based on my 4 mosquito bites from the Austin trip, they really need those bats to eat up all the mosquitoes!

Capitalism when allowed is used for Good
I love this take on the rescue of the miners in Chile. It supports capitalism mixed with donations from the private sector untouched by socialism. What I am saying is--when we leave innovation and competition alone, great things can happen. This rescue was one of a kind and was made possible because of innovation and YES, donations to the effort by PRIVATE companies. True, NASA had a hand in the welfare of the miners but they and the Chilean government were aided by donations of items that not only saved the miners (the drill) but kept them sane. Take a look at this opinion article from The Wall Street Journal.
